What's Being Said

We have had some fantastic support from people across Northern Ireland who also want to see our politicians reach consensus on an education system fit for the 21 century. We have included just some of the fantastic feedback below...

COMMUNITY RELATIONS COUNCIL

“Too few young people have had regular opportunities at school to make sustained contact with children from backgrounds and cultures different from their own... All schools and communities need to be actively supported in developing solutions which result in meaningful sharing, including on a cross-community basis.”

I taught in Shimna Integrated College, both our kids went there, and I know from experience that proper integration does make for better-educated, more rounded, more open-minded citizens.

My son attends a school which this site aims to create! Knockmore Primary school in Lisburn, the school intregrates very successfully all children whether their differences be religion, race, disability etc and guess what the SEELB want to close it! What the heck is going on! I notice Mr O Dowd supports one school of thought so I'm sure once the paperwork re the school hits his desk he will realise that the board are making a major mistake in closing what he is trying to work to-wards !

My son attends a wonderful school in Lisburn, Co. Antrim called Knockmore PS. Integration and Inclusion are at the heart of its very ethos. In this school it does not matter what your religion or political opinion is or if you have a disability or if you don't - all children are equals and treat each other with understanding, acceptance and respect. The way our society should be... The way forward ! I'm proud of my son and I'm proud of his school. He loves it there!

As Principal of Erne Integrated College, I see everyday the value of integrated education - it is indeed the only way forward to build a society and develop citizens for the 21st century.

Integrated education is vital to build an integrated society. If you think about the sports adults play and where and how they socialise; this is often reflects the schools they attended. If we don't get our young people mixing early on they are likely to sustain the segretation in our wider society.

my children aged 17 and 15 have been in integrated education from 4 years of age, they are well rounded and open minded individuals. Integration works it is the only way forward in our still very divided and predjudiced society......how much longer do we have to wait for change?

I love the Jake O'Kane video on your YouTube channel! He's a good guy! Its embarassing how true it is - I've no children but terrified at the thought of how their lives could be dictated so easily by a divided education system like ours. No excuses anymore - we are better than this!
